Jeffrey Lindsey, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in Emergency Health Services at George Washington University. He retired from the fire service as the fire chief for Estero Fire Rescue, Estero, Florida. A nationally recognized figure in the emergency services industry, he also serves as the education coordinator for 24-7 EMS. He is an experienced leader, educator, lecturer, author (including REA's EMT-Paramedic Flashcards), and consultant in emergency services. Dr. Lindsey earned his doctorate and master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Florida. He holds a bachelor's degree in Fire and Safety Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and an associate in paramedicine from Harrisburg Area Community College. Dr. Lindsey has nearly three decades of diverse experience in the emergency services industry.

Honestly if it wasn't for this book, I probably wouldn't pass the test on my first trial, everything you need is in this book, all you need to do is put some time on it. I studied 4 hours aday 4 days a week for two weeks a month after finishing up my emt class. I can tell my confidence level skyrocketed and every question that popped up was familiar. Study hard and you will pass on your first test.
I bought this book along with two others to study for my NREMT exam. I didn't even crack open the other two books. This flash card book was the best and definitely helped me in areas I was lacking or starting to push to the back of my head. I passed on my first try and happy I made the purchase!
I like the format of the book and not loose flashcards even though that is originally what I was looking for. I have failed the NREMT already and studying to retest, thought I would buy other things to help me because the text and workbook of 1400 pages is loaded with fluff that makes it difficult to review. so far I think the content in this book is very similar to what was on the exam. I will try to update when I retake the exam.
I used this for test prep and passed the exam on the first attempt. Was happy the the layout of the book and wouldn't change a thing.
Passed EMT-B on the first try. A great review. Don't overlook the value of the online supplement. I waited too long to try it, not realizing what a great resource it is with analysis of weak points and ability to re-take the practice test. Will be purchasing their other products for chemistry and eventually for paramedic studies.
If you are looking to prepare for your NREMT the questions in this book are far to easy and will not adequately prepare you. However, if you are just starting out this book will help test you on the basics. Keep in mind that the NREMT asks the hardest version of a question and will be phrased much differently then what you will find here.Overall it is a good review of the basics and a good efficient way to quiz yourself ... especially on the go.
This book is excellent for quick review. I needed something portable and easy to flip through while I was on shift and I love that the "cards" don't get lost or jumbled in this format. This has been a great refresher for me as I get ready to move to a new area and will be taking department exams in a similar format. I would recommend these.
