No pictures whatsoever. Mostly recipies using wheat and white flour. I was looking for recipes using the wide range of products Bob's Red Mill has.
I am an avid baker and am always looking for ways to incorporate whole grains into my diet. This book has recipes for a great variety of grains - more than just whole wheat. However, I've been trying recipes from the Bob's Red Mill Baking Book for over a year, and am consistently disappointed - they just aren't reliable. If gluten is a problem for you, this book might be worth looking into. If not, go for the King Arthur Flour Whole Grain Baking Book instead - recipes are wheat-based but always delicious.
This book is jammed packed with all kinds of recipes, over 400 of them. I bake Gluten free for my granddaughter who has Celiac's disease. I buy all my flours from Bob's Red Mill and now I have this wonderful book. Can't wait to get started.
I'm lucky enough to live only a few miles from Bob's Red Mill store and restaurant. What a wonderful place. I buy a lot of their grains and other goodies. But I didn't want to pay full price for this book. It would have been worth the full price, it's a nice book.
I am buying this book after checking it out from the library for 9 wks running -- I think they want it back. I have altered ingredients in a few recipes to make lower in fat and sugar. There is a great variety of recipes, something for everyone. I LOVE the whole wheat pizza dough, another favorite is the pumpkin cranberry bread. Delicious!!
Many recipes using Bob's products, such as spelt flour, kamut flour, oats, fresh local fruits and more (many of the whole grain products that Dr. OZ recommends that I don't know how to cook). I'm looking forward to trying out more recipes this winter. The 'Pear-Rhubarb Crisp w/ginger' that I tried was delicious. Be aware that Bob's cook book does not think that butter is a dirty word.
A good range of baking recipes including gluten-free. Many of the recipes call for Red Mill products but many don't. I recommend this book without reservations to anyone who loves to bake.
This is my go to baking book. Bob's products are available at my local grocer and my kids just eat up many of the recipes. I love that they have a variety of recipes for everything.
