As someone who purchased and enjoyed Bellomo's books on Star Wars and Transformers, I was eager to see what he had to say about GI Joe and I was not disappointed. This book really does a top notch job on revisiting the era of GI Joe: A Real American Hero and provides a thorough description on the action figures, vehicles, and play-sets. The book is very informative and filled with bits culled from Larry Hama himself.It is a fun read and a nice trip down memory lane. One word: the new book is a hardcover and it took me longer than usual to get - I guess a lot of people want this book. But hang in there, it's well worth the wait.
No GIJOE fan of any age should be without this modern toy bible. First, the hardcover, hundreds of color glossy pages, and so many details will be an essential tool for any collector for years to come. Second, the printing quality is superb. Third, I mean, its GIJOE. How can you go wrong with it???Note: This is perfect if your collector focuses on the figures or vehicles and accessories loose, and likes a little history thrown in with each item. Super detailed. I hear the author is a decent guy too.
This book is beyond what I was expecting! It's hard backed and very well organized from start to finish. The only drawbacks are that there's no table of contents or glossary. Besides that, it is a must have for any serious collector or beginner wanting information about the series. Great coffee table book and a wealth of information!
Got the first 2 editions and was not disappointed by this one. The hardcover was a great touch & all the work Mark does is above and beyond. A great trilogy for the G.I. Joe collector. If you missed the first 2 editions don’t miss this one. Its a missing piece to help complete or add to your collection.
I loved is book. Anither improved edition. I loved the inclusion of more information on the pack-in material such as the face paint and rings. I have only two complanints. I would rather have seen even more info on the pack-ins rather than images of the blueprints, and also there was no index as promised. When there are over 500 figures and 300 vehicles/ bases/accessories spread out over 13 series, there needs to be an index.
I grew up playing with these toys but no longer have them. I've been tempted to pick some up on ebay but I don't know where I'd put them. This book really helps out filling that nostalgia feeling. Looking through the book I can see all the toys I had as well as the ones I wished I'd had. Beautiful photos and nice descriptions give a great view of each piece.
This book is awesome. The information is critical to me collecting and selling of Joes. The current prices are on point. The illustrations and pics are beautifully arranged throughout the book.
Flipping Amazing love every page, and it full of detailed pictures and wonderful information to assist any level of collector.
